We publish a weekly newsletter which gets sent to our subscriber base every Friday and is regulary posted on our social media channels.

KRISTEN MITCHELL, Ph.D.

Kristen focuses on the most sensitive environmental issues facing our planet. She has translated her scientific systems thinking background into policy work in Congress, advisory work at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and educational content development with UC Berkeley. Her work spans everything from researching plastics in the oceans to advising on policies for agricultural research. Kristen was a prize developer for the 2016 XPRIZE Visioneers on the safe drinking water prize.

Kristen lives in the city of San Francisco and is currently researching innovative technologies that can help solve the worst environmental problems facing humanity.

Kristen earned her PhD in Earth system modeling also known as biogeochemistry from Utrech University. She recieved her Master of Science in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences from georgia Institute of Technology.

ELAHEH DEMIRCHELIE

Elaheh focuses on conversations around design and technology in relation to sustainability. She received a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology and lives in the city of San Francisco. Prior to Leonoel and starting her own design practice, she was Chief Creative Officer at Mark Cavagnero Associates in San Francisco. 

BABAK SHAFEI, Ph.D.

Babak is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working in the water, energy and environmental sectors. Skilled in computational science and engineering, environmental engineering, and sustainability, he focuses on topics related to technology and sustainability. Babak recieved his Ph.D. focused in Environmental Science/Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Babak lives in the city of Houston and is the founder of Aqua NRG, which was recently awarded $1,000,000 Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research (DOE-SBIR) Phase II grant. 

 

SARAH SHEN

Sarah focuses on topics around Business and economy in sustainability. She brings a diverse background to the platform including her experience as vice president of J.P. Morgan and the pharmaceutical industry. She recieved her MBA from Columbia Business School and a B.A in Business Economics from University of California, Los Angeles. Sarah is a current resident of the city of San Francisco.
